Our team offer solutions to ground stabilisation on plots of land that are at risk of subsidence in the future. This is often due to disused mine workings and mine shafts but not limited to.
We have the plant to provide exploratory investigations of land to provide reassurance to construction projects from small plots of land to huge inner city developments.

RECENT PROJECTS
We carried out the consolidation of the shallow mine workings at Newcastle Science Central close to
Newcastle’s iconic football ground, St. James’ Park. A large project that enabled the first city centre
opencast in many years.
Our team were incredible during this project and proved their credentials with top quality advice, the right understanding, creative planning and a solution that has now proved invaluable to the whole construction. As beautiful as the buildings are now, they wouldn’t have been possible without the skill and knowledge of the Groundshire team.

OUR HISTORY
Groundshire, an independent company, has been operating continuously since 1978. In that time,
we have developed a reputation as specialists in the treatment of old mine workings and mine
entries. We are well-equipped in terms of plant and machinery; and we are well-equipped in terms
of experience and expertise.
Contracts over £2.50m value have been successfully carried out, but at
the other extreme, few jobs are too small.
